What makes us different
Any practice can buy a scanner. These are the parts that took thirty-seven years in one city to build.
The problem: being sent to a specialist across town for half of your own treatment.
Each of our three dentists has a focus. Dr. Taylor places implants, Dr. Frey is a Platinum Invisalign provider, and Dr. Scott has placed thousands of veneers. They combine on the cases that need it, and almost nothing has to leave the building.
The problem: being moved through an appointment on somebody else's clock.
You will not be rushed here. Our dentists listen to the whole of what you came in to say and then explain the options in words you can repeat to somebody else afterwards, which is the real test of whether an explanation worked.
The problem: knowing it has got worse, and dreading being told so.
If you have been avoiding this, say so when you book. Nobody here is going to make a performance out of it. We are interested in restoring your oral health and in giving you something to smile about, and that is the whole of it.

The part nobody else puts in writing
Crowns, veneers, bridges, implant restorations. If one of them fails within five years, we replace it. It is not an upsell and it is not an extended plan you buy — it is simply what we stand behind, and it is the reason we would rather do a thing once and do it properly.
Looked after reasonably, a crown placed here should give you ten to fifteen years.

Meet your dentists
All three are Virginia Beach natives, and two of them are father and son. You will usually see the same dentist each visit, but they share one record and one plan for you, which is why a complicated case here does not become three separate opinions.
Between them: a two-year hospital residency in surgical and sedation procedures, a Fellowship of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and thirty-seven years of this city's mouths.

Grew up here, went to Cox High School and the University of Virginia, then opened this practice in 1989. He has placed thousands of porcelain veneers in Virginia Beach and co-hosted the television programme Cosmetic Dentistry Today.

MCV/VCU, then a two-year residency at the UCLA VA clinic
First Colonial High School, then the University of Virginia and dental school in Richmond. His Los Angeles residency was spent on surgical and sedation procedures, which is the training behind the implant work done here. He is Dr. Scott Parr's eldest son.

Technology
The CT scan gives a three-dimensional picture of the jaw, the sinus cavities and the exact run of the alveolar nerve. Dr. Parr uses it for every implant case, which is how an implant gets planned rather than estimated. It takes twenty seconds, nothing goes in your mouth, and the radiation dose is a fraction of a medical CT.

Nothing. Every treatment we offer starts with a free consultation, whatever it is you want to talk about. You get an examination, an opinion and a price, and you are under no obligation to book anything at the end of it.
No, and that is not a slogan. It is the most common reason people find this practice. Tell us when you call so we can give the first visit enough time. We are only interested in where your mouth goes from here.
Every restoration we place — crowns, veneers, bridges, implant restorations — carries a five-year replacement warranty. If one fails within five years we replace it. With reasonable care, a crown from here should last ten to fifteen years.
Usually not. We design, mill and fit ceramic crowns in the practice on a CEREC machine, so most crowns are one appointment with no temporary in between.
We are out of network, which in practice means you often get more of your benefit rather than less. Our team files the claim and helps you collect the reimbursement from your provider. Bring your card to the consultation and we will work out what your specific plan pays before you commit to anything.
We work with CareCredit, which offers interest-free and low-interest plans, and we will tell you the whole cost in writing before any treatment starts. There are no surprises added later.
Visit us
